Google is not helping enough
I think I have to either put 011 then then country code then the number, or + then the code then the number, and maybe chop the first # off and I'm oh so confused.
*quietly weeps*

wouldnt it be the best just to call your provider? They should give you all the advice you need. Maybe they dont even allow international messages? or the other persons cell phone cant receive international text messages?

maybe this helps, but its basically how i explained it above...
Thanks. I did try it that way but it didn't get through. Maybe I'll check out my servcie providers site. I wonder if maybe me being on pre-paid prevents me from doing this.

I have a feeling this is the deal, because I tried a few different ways and only one way allowed the message to be sent.
SMS originating in Australia (regardless of destination) and including SMS sent via WebNotes, are 25 cents per message sent. If your message is successfully sent but not received, the charge will still apply. Please be aware that Telstra cannot guarantee the delivery of SMS. The reason is that in some cases where an SMS message is sent to an international destination, the overseas mobile carrier may not deliver these messages to their subscriber base. Telstra customers will be charged for each SMS message they send overseas regardless of whether the SMS messages are received by the overseas subscriber.
Damn... I think this is what happened.

Laura, I never got you text message.
That's odd, considering I didn't send you one.
