I can't recall any other movie depicting the killing of a sitting world leader.

In total honesty, I'm surprised there has not yet been a legitimate assassination attempt.

I think Cheney's Vice Presidency goes really far toward protecting Bush.

The Secret Service does an outstanding job of protecting our leaders and I would hope we all would expect them to.

I really don't think it's appropriate to show the killing of a specific living individual, even as drama. I really don't think the filmmaker would like like it if someone would splice public footage of his wife into a gang-rape scene.

In the era of reality TV, I think it's necessary to get as real as possible in a drama in order to fully get a point across to a jaded public.

I see no problem with this whatsoever. It seems like a really interesting exercise.

So you would have no objection to your wife/girlfriend/child being spliced into a gang-rape or murder scene? Or is it just Bu$h that makes this ok? I wouldn't care if they said "US President", but the use of the person's image is not ok by my standards.

Is there even a graphic scene of Bush being shot? Your posts make it sound like you see Bush's head explode.

Bush is a "public figure". Different standards apply.
