It sounds like Fox is fucking this movie over, and unless it does well on this limited release, it is straight to DVD. wow. i put idiocracy in movifone and nothing comes up. i look at my local theathre that plays indie films and theres a film called; Untitled Mike Judge Comedy. People must be really against this movie. Grounds for me to check it out besides the obvious title, content, director, and actors.

I should really go see this. It also irks me when people say King of the Hill is a "show for rednecks." It's very clever.

I look forward to the DVD, since this doesn't appear to be heading to a "theater near me."

I saw it. Impressions. First off, I saw it at the Alamo Drafthouse here in Austin. When the title screen hit, it got a very loud ovation. Of course a lot of it was filmed here so maybe that had something to do with it. The particular screening I was at was sold out, so hopefully that is a good sign.

Anyway, the movie is a complete freaken mess. It starts out great, very funny, and it looks like a big budget film, and then about halfway through you can see where things went wrong. Suddenly the special effects budget goes to shit, as does everything else. You can tell that halfway through the process, the financial backers.... backed out.

Despite that though, it is pretty damn funny, and very right on in its commentary. It is a complete mess of a flick, but completely hilarious at the same time. It is no Office Space, but it does have a lot of laughs. The crowd I was with, ate it up. And I cannot understand why Fox is not giving it a shot.

This is the movie that makes fun of the MTV/Starbucks/Wal-Mart culture. Better then any Michael Moore hack could ever do. Check it out if you can.

So that was my review. The movie is very funny.

For those that do not know the history. A big part of the plotline is that it takes place 500 years in the future. It also uses a lot of modern companies to express how dumb we will become. Apparently. a lot of companies, Starbucks, Fuddruckers and CostCo payed big money to be advertized in the film. Once you see the film, you will realize why they were pissed about the way they were represented in the future. There are supposively still lawsuits pending. So Fox has pretty much abandoned the flick, to avoid having to deal with these potential lawsuits.

Sounds to me like its all the companies faults for not reading the script which I'm sure they had access to before signing on. Same goes for Fox.

Just saw it. Horrible. I mean...just really REALLY bad. High concept, but poor execution. There are some funny lines but overall, I see why nobody wanted to back this. We were ready to leave 20 minutes in. And after it was over, I wish we had.

And I was excited to see this.

Saw this last night.

Did a great job of making fun of the dumbing down of American culture. The dissolution of language into Ebonics, hick, corporate slogans and catch phrases was fucking great.

I saw it in the theatre twice.

Its a shame some people didnt like this. i havent laughed out loud this much at a movie in a while. My favorite part was with the Carl's Jr. food vending machine when the children get confiscated and their catchphrase "Fuck You. I'm Eating."

that was fucking hilarious!
