Ok, so the other day I went on a mission to buy only new music, and I got myself this bunch of gems.
Decoder Ring- Somersault
Very nice ambient electro-pop instrumental-based soundtrack to a most wonderful little Aussie movie.
Sarah Blasko- The Overture and The Underscore
My personal discovery of the year. Halfway between Beth Orton's subtlety and PJ Harvey's bombast, and what you have is Hinny's ideal female pop-rock.
Evermore- Dreams
First saw them supporting Brad back in 2002, when two of the three brothers would've been chucked out of the venue if they weren't performing due to theirs being underage. The track It's Too Late is one of my favourite songs of the year. Reminds me of early U2.
