Season premiere tomorrow night (8/17) at 10:00.

The head trainers for this season will be Randy Couture and Georges St. Pierre. This season will feature middleweight (185 lbs.) and Welterweight (170 lbs.) fighters. This season will be a little different as it will feature 16 exisiting UFC fighters who have never won a title. They will be competing for a shot at the gold.

Middlewieghts:
Patrick Cote, Edwin Dewees, Travis Lutter, Charles McCarthy, Gideon Ray, Jorge Rivera, Pete Sell, Scott Smith

Welterweights:
Mikey Burnett, Shonie Carter, Rich Clementi, Jeremy Jackson, Chris Lytle, Matt Serra, Pete Spratt, Din Thomas

I think the welterweight division might be a little deeper. I'd like to see Burnett and Rivera win their divisions.

Watched the first episode last night. This season appears to be focusing a lot more on the actual fighting than the dynamic between the competitors, which is a good thing. It was really cool to see Matt Serra get behind Shonie like that. Rich Clementi is a loser. I'm so glad he lost.

yeah, matt serra was a real pro on the show last night. i think this season is gonna be nice cause all of these guys should be looking to gain back some respect and let everyone know that they are not finished in the ufc.

the ultimate fight night before the show was pretty good too. and like you were saying about the ultimate fighter show, this seemed to be all about the fighting as well. there just didn't seem to be so much of that pre fight talk and all that silly wrestling type of shit that the ufc has been kind of swaying towards the past couple of years.

btw, fuck diego sanchez. i know he's a good fighter, but i just can't stand him.

Haha...I agree. The shitty thing is, with that win last night, he pretty much officially proved he is not overrated.

yeah. me and my friends keep saying he's overrated, but it looks like he's the real deal. I was really hoping that Nick Diaz would kick his goofy ass a few months back, but it turned out the other way around and Diaz ended up looking like a fool in that fight. I do think that his aggressive style is gonna backfire on him sooner or later, when somebody lands a heavy shot on his chin and drops him like a little bitch.

Episode two was great. Better than the first. We had a little comic relief with Shonie's journal entry and Charles McCarthy getting his balls broken as his name was fake announced, haha. Shonie's journal proves how serious he actually is about the fighting

How about team No Love skipping a practice? Meanwhile, team Mojo has a natural born leader in Serra who is turning out to be a great corner-man and he is really bringing the guys together as a unit.

The fight was awesome. Man, that shit was bloody. Obviously, the cut wasn't too deep or they would have stopped it. If Dewees didn't get so defensive at the end of the 2nd round (he kind of had to, he didn't want the fight to stop on a cut) then there would have been no overtime. Either way, a great swing match, Dewees never ran out of gas, kept his composure and deserved the win.

Damnit. I knew there was something on tonight I needed to watch. I like Dewees, so I'm glad he got the win. I'm just wondering against who?

Gideon Ray. Awesome fight. Make sure you catch the replay.

Good job Jeremy Jackson! Go back to fighting for sandwiches. What a dipshit...and for what? To get laid one night? I was actually quite surprised that Dana handled it that way. But I guess rules are rules and leaving the house to spend a night with a chick when no one else is getting any ass is bullshit.

The past couple of fights have been very short. It's weird to think that Pete Spratt is probably past his prime already. He went from a title contender to someone who gets choked out by Chris Lytle. Lutter was right, Smith had absolutely no ground game. I wasn't at all surprised with that result. Still waiting for my boy Serra to get in there.

I wonder who is going to get to replace Jackson. It looks lite it'll be between Clementi and Spratt. I'm kind of curious as to how they will determine that.

Alright, so the first round fights are over and there are only 8 fighters remaining now:

Welterweights
Matt Serra
Shonie Carter
Chris Lytle
Din Thomas

Middleweights
Travis Lutter (only fighter from team "No Love" to win)
Pete Sell
Patrick Cote
Edwin Dewees

So who are you picking to win each division and what do you think the semi-final pairings will be? I hope that they separate Serra and Thomas in the semis, as I think they are the two most talented and should meet in the finals. I'd like to see Serra/Carter and Lytle/Thomas. For the middleweights I'm not so sure.

Really boring fight tonight. As was last weeks. But that's hardly the shows fault.

As far as winners go, I'm going to pick Matt Serra for welterweights. I know that's the obvious pick, but it's a good pick. He's a great trainer, and he knows what he's doing in the ring. Correct me if i'm wrong, but I don't think he's really lost a fight convincingly in the UFC... and he's got the most talent out of those guys.

As far as middleweights go...Edwin Dewees is the obvious pick. This guy is young, talented, marketable... everything else you'd look for in a fighter. Apparently he's like Joe Riggs; Incredibly talented in the gym, but can't quite translate it to the octagon... but he's still very young, and I can see him becoming champ. But Lutter was very impressive, and as boring a fight as Cote just had, he's not someone you could ever count out.
