I love Destroyer and TNP, have not heard Frog Eyes, and really don't think much of Wolf Eyes / Rubdown thing. I'd much rather see another New Pornographers album.

theres a song thats leaked called all fires and its pretty sweet. krug is doing the singing. I can't wait for the album to come out, and hoepfully leak right soon. Krugs been on a real roll lately, wolf parade, sunset rubdown and this seems like it will be really good.

Swan Lake Reveal Debut Album

It's time to officially add a second supergroup to Dan Bejar's resume because the debut album from Swan Lake-- the collaboration between Bejar, Wolf Parade/Sunset Rubdown's Spencer Krug and Frog Eyes' Carey Mercer that has only been hinted at until now-- finally has a release date.

The album is called Beast Moans and will be released November 21 on Jagjaguwar. Though the tracklist is below, the specific songwriting credits remain mysterious.

Beast Moans:

01 Widow's Walk
02 Nubile Days
03 City Calls
04 A Venue Called Rubella
05 All Fires
06 The Partisan But He's Got to Know
07 The Freedom
08 Petersburg, Liberty Theater, 1914
09 The Pollenated Girls
10 Bluebird
11 Pleasure Vessels
12 Are You Swimming in Her Pools?
13 Shooting Rockets

Thanks for the post. This is very exciting for someone like me who is a long time new pornographers fan and just got into wolf parade within the last month. I can't wait to pick this up.

yup.

it's pretty fucking good too...

not as good as Sunset Rubdown, but still a lot more impressive than i'd expected from those previous 4 tracks that leaked (they're a lot more sparse musically, there's a lot going on in some of the songs)

yeah. it's not so good. granted I've only listened to it once, and it kinda sounds like something that needs to sink in over time, but for now I'm not a big fan.

I took my girlfriend to see this ballet at the Kennedy Center in DC last January. Scored HUGE points. :li:

The New Pornographers are pretty good, so I'm looking forward to the album coming out.

I had a teacher burn me the first one back in 06 and never really got into it. Although, it did benefit from a headphone listen.

Unless someone tells me that this is awesome, I'm not going to bother. I hate Spencer Krug, and the first album sounded like a giant pool of warm shit.
