I am finally going through my collection and getting some order to it. Wanted to ask this. I have some shows that were burnt as regular discs and wanted to ask if there is a way by listening to them if they are mp3 sourced. Some i believe are as i notice a click in between tracks, others dont have this, some have the most miniscule gap in between them but no clicks or pops. So is there a way to 100% find out if this or others are MP3 sourced. I dont want to trade out this stuff to the community so i want to be sure of my sources on some of these shows i have.

It is hard to tell by listening sometimes... *waits for the bashing*
The best way is to have a program like Cool Edit Pro/Adobe Audition that gives you a "spectral" view of a file, which represents volume at different frequencies by intensity of color, kinda like doppler radar. An mp3-sourced recording will generally have a hard cut off at 16khz, in other words, a well defined "line" between black (no volume) and oranges and reds.

Ok i get what your saying. I did some editing in soundforge as well and took two tracks and looked at them, put them together to make 1 complete track and there is no noticable click or gap or dead space then, it just flows from song to song no problem. So i will have to analyze some of these in the way you mention.
Now let me ask this, When i burn a disc i get the ever so slight pause in between the files no matter what the source is, SHN, FLAC, MP3, original source etc etc. Iuse NERO, latest version and remove the gaps when burning between songs, i do DAO as well. any idea how to get around this by chance?
That doesn't necessarily work. Meaning just insuring there's so skips b/w tracks doesn't mean it's not mp3-sourced OR does not have mp3's in it lineage. Someone could concieveably have taken the mp3 at then converted to WAV and then gone to SHN/FLAC. That would produce a seemless copy b/w tracks BUT would be mp3-sourced. There's a program called aucdtect or something like that. It's a DOS-prompt program that supposedly is pretty good. I'm sure if you googled it, you find it and a tutorial how to use. It's freeware. That along with spectral analysis are your best bets.

This all just begs the question of if you can't tell just by listening, then what is all this huge whining "stop disrespecting us" fuss about? It makes no sense.
Dont be silly med goat. CLEARLY there is no need for AUCDTECT, being that the quality of an MP3 sourced show is so SUB-STANDARD, one should be able to spot these with the naked ear...

The quality gets lost with each generation of MP3s ...
SHN->WAV->MP3->WAV->Mp3->WAV .... ->SHN and you will not only have different files but also a noticable loss of quality in generation XY...
If you keep the compression out of this generations you will still have the exact same quality after 100 generations.
You can also compare this with JPEG picture compression. Everytime you click the save button in a JPEG picture the current file is compressed again and some information is lost. You wont recognize in the first 5-10 genrations but if the files are saved several dozen times there is a big difference to the original file.

First of all, most of the tapers you need to worry about won't whine about it. They probably never post here, and will just say "fuck it" and stop posting their tapes on the internet.
anyways, there's a couple things to clarify. first off, it's hard to tell if a show is mp3 sourced unless you have a copy that you know isn't mp3 sourced to compare it to. but if you have one that you know isn't mp3 sourced, then you wouldn't have any problem...
