Rem all those great rock bands that made music alive again!!! alice in chains nirvana, pearl jam, sound garden and etc I thought back then from the seattle scene that pearl jam would be the first to dismantle..... thank god i was wrong.Eddie once said"If all this influence this part of the country has and this musical scene has and does not do something with it that would be a tradgey"this came after the death of kurt cobain and since then the death of layne and the breakup of soundgarden do u think all this from there town has pushed them on as a group all these years to keep putting out the seattle sound and to keep that part of rock history still alive in a sort rem kurt and all those great bands and that engery of that era

If I understood this correctly (I may not have) then i'm sure that is a part of it, at least in later years. I think they want to be seen as elder statesmen of rock and really cement thier place in music history.

REM, (all those great rock bands that made music alive again!!!), alice in chains, nirvana, pearl jam, sound garden, etc - I thought back then from the seattle scene that pearl jam would be the first to dismantle..... thank god i was wrong.

Eddie once said, "If all this influence this part of the country has and this musical scene has and does not do something with it that would be a tradgey."

this came after the death of kurt cobain; and since then, the death of layne and the breakup of soundgarden.

do u think all this, from their town, has pushed them on as a group all these years to keep putting out the seattle sound and to keep that part of rock history still alive in a sort? REM, kurt, and all those great bands and that engery of that era?

much better... so eddie is saying, since the seattle scene blew up and had lots of influence, then the scene needs to "do something with it". and mr.riotriveract is saying, do we (RM) think that the power of the seattle scene has pushed PJ to keep putting out records for seattle.

i think PJ is trying to use their influence for good, whether it be mike and the CCFA or trying to be more environmentally friendly with their touring, or any of their other charitable endeavors.

and i think PJ is putting out records mainly for themselves and thier fans, not to try and "keep the seattle scene alive"...
