to be honest, my first echo and the bunnymen experience was a few years ago... i was stoned as shit and watching donnie darko. i paused the dvd when killing moon came on and went and downloaded a bunch of their songs. then i went back, unpaused, and went on to see that gem of a film.

Great band!

Heaven Up Here is one of the very best albums of the early '80's, imho...

They're great and yes, very underated. I have a bunch of songs here but the only cd I have is their debut which is simply amazing. I also got to know them through Donnie Darko, that opening really is something special. I heard that in the Directors Cut version the opening is with a different song. That sucks because "Killing Moon" was awesome.

And I'm seing them live in a few weeks. 8)

"crocodiles" is a good start, chronologically is the best way with Echo, be sure to pick "Heaven Up Here" next

some echo songs for you:

show of strenght, the cutter, with a hip, porcupine, all my colours, heads will roll, silver, lips like sugar, nocturnal me

I haven't listened to them in a long time but do recall enjoying their work.
