Lisa is told that she is failing gym class and unsuccessfully tries out for various sports to make up for her low grade. After watching Bart play ice hockey, a puck is hurtled towards her face but she catches it. Apu, the opposing team's coach, notices her skills and signs her up as his team's goalie. This leads the Cougers to their best season ever, and Homer starts spending more time with Lisa and leaving Bart jealous. Homer puts more pressure on the two when both of their teams are set to play, and whichever wins will gain his respect. The big game boils down to a penalty shot that pits Bart against Lisa. Both put aside their competition and realize their memories as brother and sister are far better than a hockey game. They throw down their equipment and hug, ending the game in a tie where a crowd brawl erupts.
PM me if you have a request for a future episode that should be covered.
This one is for dirtyfrank0705.
Bart sleeps peacefully in bed when Lisa throws open his door and yells "Snowball fight!" Bart wakes up groggily, only to be pounded in the face with a ball of snow. Lisa chuckles unkindly, then takes off with Bart in hot pursuit. She runs out the front door. Bart: You're going to eat a blizzard of...[looks around] unseasonable warmth?
Lisa: I made the snowball from the frost in our freezer! [laughs]
[all the other kids around laugh]
Jimbo: Nice PJs, Simpson. Did your mommy buy 'em for ya?
Bart: Of course she did. Who else would have?
Jimbo: [thinks] [menacing] All right, Simpson, you win THIS round.
Skinner: All right, first academic alert: Wiggum, Ralph.
Ralph: I won, I won! [walks on stage]
Skinner: No no, Ralph, this means you're failing English.
Ralph: Me fail English? That's unpossible!
Homer: OK, hotshots, now that my daughter is on your team, I want to make a few things clear.
Lisa: [embarrassed] Please, Dad, I'll be fine
Homer: [makes negative mumbling noises at Lisa] I don't want anyone to give her a hard time just because she's different: no jokes, no taunting -- [spots Uter]
[guffaws] Look, that kid's got bosoms! Who's got a wet towel?
[chases Uter, laughing] Come here, you butterball.
Uter: [screams] Don't make me run, I'm full of chocolate!

kills me everytime
That and (can't remember quote) when lisa gets into the front of the car after the arguement with homer about it being good at sports.

This is probably my favorite scene ever.

MARGE: Don't worry Lisa. Sport's are not that important.
HOMER: (Baseball tune) Sports, sports, sports, sports, sports, sports, sports, sports (normal) today, Bart gets to sit up front because he's such a good guy at sports.
Milhouse: Hey, Bart. If Lisa's better than you at hockey, you think you'll become better than her at school?
Bart: Maybe I will, Milhouse. Maybe I will.
(At school)
Mrs. Krabappel: Who can tell me the capital on Spain? Bart Simpson. The square root of 36? Bart Simpson. Who freed the slaves? Bart Simpson. Bart Simpson. Bart Simpson. Bart Simpson, will you stop raising your hand? You haven't gotten one right answer all day.
Bart: Sorry.

Marge: Stop it, stop it, stop it! (flicks light on and off)
Bart: Mom, that is really annoying.
Lisa: Bart started it.
Bart: Uh uh, Lisa started it.
Marge: I don't care who started it. I don't ever want to see you two fighting like that ever again. We love you both: you're not in competition with each other. Repeat: you are not in competition with each other.
Homer: Hey! Apu just called. This Friday, Lisa's team is playing Bart's team. You're in direct competition. And don't go easy on each other just because you're brother and sister. I want to see you both fighting for your parents' love! (flicks light on and off) Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!...

My friend watched the commentary for this episode and apparently they got some sort of Christian award for it in reference to the importance of brother & sister relationships. That scene at teh end is one of teh most emotional Simpsons moments of all time. Apparently, they were kind of upset when they got the award because the episode was actually about bad parenting, haha.
One of the many reasons why season 6 is the best ever.

I noticed this for the first time yesterday, but in the first scene when the kids are watching "Action News", you see Homer taunting Maggie with the beer. Later in the episode, when Homer questions what Maggie has done, she catches a beer that's tossed over to Homer's area.
Thought that was pretty funny.

I like how when Milhouse gets knocked out, Apu gets some rope to hold him up to the net. When the puck comes his way, he tries to blow at it to slow it down. Apu is like "Defense! Defense! C'mon, you call THAT blowing?" Cracks my shit up everytime.
