Worth buying? It's expensive, but I need to stop salivating over it every time I go to the record store. Does anyone have any thoughts on it?

I have it and have watched it 4 times. Pretty interesting footage and history. Think there is plenty of extra dirt that is missing, which won't come out til Macca dies.

Does it have some good live performance stuff?

The Anthology is excellent, I have only saw it on VHS. But I hear the DVD has tons of extra features. The VHS version is in depth and has alot of live performance clips from the Cavern Club to the Apple Rooftop. Also, the videos for the 'new' Beatles songs were cool. It's very informative, and worth the price.

If you are more than just a casual Beatles fan, *get it*.

get it. it is expensive, but it's worth it if you are into the beatles. It has plenty of great live clips and tons of information.

You would be better off checking it out for free from the library to watch it, and then decide.

We have it here in my house, for the novelty mostely. There is very little on it that was "new" to us (being a "Beatles" house ala bootleg video, cds, etc.)

I bought it last week. Its better than the vhs series because the extra dvd outtakes are amazing, I just wish they were mixed in with the main package.

Cool extras - Way more revolver coverage, cut for time constraints only. A lot more recent footage of them reuniting and playing out on a lawn (except Ringo keeps trying to take off just when its getting good) and in the studio. some unreleased beatles songs sung by george, one thats really pretty good. Lots of making their modern videos too.

Its definately worth it, but if youve seen imagine and other tv/movie specials, plus followed their legacy for the most part, it may seem a little terse, like they could have showed a lot more ultra obscure shit for people who already know the basics. Well worth grabbing though I did sweat over the price a bit.

I think I'm definitely more than a casual fan, in fact all I seem to listen to at all lately is The Beatles, so I'll pick it up sooner or later. Thanks
