American History X and Fight Club I love him in

Didn't really like him in Italian Job, and could take or leave him in the rest.

A good actor though.

other than the 2 you noted, i think his stongest performance was in Rounders and Primal Fear. Primal Fear was just evil  the first time you see it.

great movie! he's one of my favorite actors. I really want to see "Down in the Valley" but it's wasn't playing in many places. I'm looking forward to seeing "Motherless Brooklyn". I guess he is writing, directing, and acting in it. it was a great book and i hope it's done well as a film.

i believe there was some kind of controversy type thing about him being in this. like he didn't want to be in it but the studio forced it or something, i don't know.

anyway, 25th hour is a sweet movie.

i also liked death to smoochy and the score, but i'm probably in the minority

He was under contract to the studio for a certain number of movies, and he had one more movie to complete his contract. He had been turning down a lot of their scripts because he thought they sucked, so they forced him to do this one. And IMO, within the movie, it shows. He put forth no effort and I don't blame him in the least.
