MMJ frontman Jim James will play a handful of solo shows with John Prine just prior to the start of the band's 18-stop excursion, and Pearl Jam will return the favor by supporting the band on two of the dates. As we previously reported, MMJ's live double album, Okonokos, will emerge September 26 on ATO.

OK, Southerners, you have some shows...now shut the fuck up.
In all seriousness, this is somewhat of a bitch-slap to Southern fans. "No, we aren't going to REALLY play the South, but instead we'll play a couple of dates opening for a band the vast majority of you probably has no interest in seeing. Enjoy. Love, Stone".
november 12th i'll be in atlanta for a browns game... oh boy, i don;t know what to do, what time is the concert?

My heart skipped but yep, PJ's on their Aussie tour then.
Though the Tabernacle would be a holy-crap place to see them.
Maybe they're playing the California dates instead?

Typical elitist shit. Hey Stone, why don't you go ride your bike or something, or go make another solo album, which the vast majority of us will not enjoy.

First post! I was so excited there for a second... *sigh*. A show at The Tabernacle would have been so awesome! Aaargh! Oh, well...
Welcome to the board.
For a split second I actually fell for that trick. D'oh.

That album came out on 9/11. I was gonna go buy it and another new release, Ben Folds' Rockin the Suburbs, but waited a few days as I suddenly became paranoid of spending money. I still listen to 'Cadillac' every now and then. Though my copy was stolen, I need to give the whole thing a listen again. That way I can tell if I still like it and am a complete hypocrite for saying that about Stone.

what would be really funny is if they open for them on some NE dates.
