The trailer doesn't look bad, but the fact that Michael Bay is involved is definitely not a good sign.
Actually, I was disappointed when I saw the trailer. It looks JUST like the remake, which was awful. I was hoping it was gonna be a lot of R. Lee Ermey kicking ass, but it looks like the same crap as before.

I haven't even bothered with the trailer, but I still know I'll go see it. Sad but true, it's TCM.
The remake was definitely nothing special but when I think of it as just another sequel I can deal with it. Anything is better than the Next Generation right?

I never saw the remake. This trailer just reminds me of the original, which I love.

Right.
However, TCM2>>>TCM remake.
I just downloaded TCM2 to watch tonight... i havent seen it in a year or more and since the Gruesome Edition is coming out I have to watch it to decide if it is worth dropping the cash on.
I actually liked the TCM remake. I just got the two disc special edition of that for 11.97 and although it isnt as good as the original it wasnt bad at all IMO.

Well, yeah, but that's because TCM2 is awesome.
I'll say:
TCMIII>TCM remake
Never seen TCM3. The trailer is fucking hysterical, though.

TCM 2 is awesome, no doubt about that.
"Music...is my life." You've got to love Bill Moseley.

Looking forward to this, here's how I rank the series
TCM
TCM 2
TCM REMAKE (one of the better remakes)
TCM: TNG (awful movie, but unintentionally hilarious and McConaughey is awesome)
TCM III (just a bad movie)

So I don't want to get my hopes up, but early hype on this has been surprisingly strong. I'm trying to steer clear of spoilers, but I did check out this review:

Marcus Nispel's remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was completely unworthy of its title, a mindless teen slasher flick made for the sole purpose of cashing in on a classic horror name. Sure, it looked nice, but for all its faux grittiness the experience felt as generic and manufactured as any dumbed down Hollywood movie. The fact that it won any sort of acceptance still boggles the mind.
If you disagree with the above statement, then director Jonathan Liebesman is about to take you to school. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning is the real deal - the very film the remake aspired and failed to be. Not only is it the best installment in the Chainsaw canon since Tobe Hooper's original, it's also the most brutal film to ever emerge from a studio. No hyperbole. No bullshit.
...
This material is brutal beyond belief, and it's enough to make even the most jaded horror fan beg for mercy. In fact, the torture, gore, and sadism are more than enough to pop the question: If this is the R-rated version, what in God's name was left out?
Dark, savage, and nihilistic, this is the kind of ride that leaves you shaken and emotionally drained; and the fact that something like this escaped through the studio system is a bit of a movie miracle. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning is not only the biggest surprise of 2006, it may very well be the best horror film of the year.

Fuck. I did not expect that at all. I will be seeing this.

You really weren't going to see it before? I think when you've gone so far as to see the Next Generation, you're pretty much along for the ride of the entire series. I was going to see it before, now I'm actually expecting something.

Correct. Hell, I'd sooner own TNG before I'd own that horrible remake. If it was just going to be more of that shit, there was no way I would bother.
Now, it's a completley different story. This review really set my expectations high. This film better be fucking BRUTAL.

I don't think I'd get them too high, just go see it and hope to be pleasantly surprised. I think that's the only reason I could tolerate the remake at all was because my expectations were sub-Halloween Resurrection. I was just hoping they didn't put Leatherface in a tutu and have him endorse Dr. Pepper.
And while I didn't read the review, Bloody Disgusting gave it an 8/10 as well I believe.
