Ok, so it's only pre-season, but hockey is back and I figure we could use a countdown/new season thread. Perhaps some early predictions... surprises? big seasons? big failures?

I interviewed Leetch last summer, he's a great guy. I think he's ready to end it honestly.

Well, maybe...they'll at least go further than last year. Tanguay will help the offense, Phanuef has a year under his belt, and hopefully Kiprusoff can stay healthy.

It's going to be interesting watching the Avs, they lost 2 great players during the off season. Plus, they have a new GM and I'm curious to see what and how he does.
And slightly off topic, the ECHL season doesn't start Until November 3rd (here in town at least.) Argh.

I think the flames will take the cup. Adding tanguay makes them a very difficult offense to deal with.
Leafs will make the playoffs. Canadiens wont. Senators choke somewhere along the line. Sabres finish first in the eastern conference. Penguins still dont make the playoffs (lack of defence)

WoW that must have been great Rich! i met him on 2 different occasions and he is a class act.. i hope the rangers can find him 15 to 20 mins a game and or for power play situations...he needs to come back and win one and go out on top or in a NYR Uniform he is MR RANGER...CLASS ACT all the way.
