keeley, or drew. whoever it is. fire them. the light are so friggen boring during most of the show. sometimes its fantastic like during whipping in mexico. usually though the band is playing in darkness.

and i dont want to hear how youre there just to hear the music. bullshit. you can put live cd's in. im there for a the show. and 1. i want to see the band when they are performing. 2. lighting adds to the show. (i.e. pink floyd)

there, im done. this wont go well.

i think the fact that the lighting is not all elaborate and 'special effectsy' lends credibility to their live performances. they are widely acknowledged as one of the best touring bands out there, and its not for the u2-esque masturbatory stage show. sure, lights work for pink floyd and some other bands.... but they are not pearl jam.

there has never been a single iota of a second when i was at a pj show that i thought 'this would be cooler with more lighting stuff going on.'

also, i rarely have trouble seeing the band when they are playing... what are you talking about?

(though sometimes i have people who are ten feet tall obscuring my vision)

Fancy lights add to ticket costs. They had a laser this year. It's not going to get much fancier.

I'm not so into the lights, but I would like to see more props and sets on stage. Possibly a costume change or two.

do you really think that the light techs decide on the lighting for the shows? im pretty sure the lighting set ups are what the band wants, and most likely worked on before the tour, the techs just work the lights.

so id say that if you have a problem with the lights at the shows then you should probably request that the band be fired

Best effect ever: at Boston 1 this year during "Release," the band was only lit from behind. Awesome, awesome.

Also, to original poster: When was the last time you saw the band? This year there were a lot of lighting effects added during some songs which may not have been present if you haven't seen them in a while.
