I watched it the other night, and I forgot how much of a kickass movie it actually is. I seen it first in school go figure, when we were studying Buddhism. It's really fucking cool how they clip from showing the main characters in the movie to the actual story of Lord Buddha's life. Also it's apparently based on a true story (is the end a true story though?)

I know a lot of people who hate this film, mostly because of Keanu Reeves, but I've always liked it. I liked it enough to tape it off cable many years ago and still have the tape. I also don't think that Keanu Reeves is the worst actor on earth, so I'm sure that helps, and I was in my Buddhist phase when the film came out, so it was a big deal for me.

I've heard that it is based on a true story as well, but I don't know any more than you do.

Did you ever see the King Of The Hill episode where they do this? The lama thinks that Bobby may be the reincarnation of a great lama, and Bobby and Khan Jr. are candidates. It's really quite excellent. :D
