As most of us were staring in utter disbelief at the poor choices of the users at IGN, this seems to be the perfect opportunity for the more cultured souls at RM to have their say. Borrowing my idea from Mowbs' greatest album list in OB, here are the rules:

- PM me with a list of 20 video games (that is, both console and PC/Mac games) which you feel are the "best" you've ever played. And please rank them; according to Mowbs' rules, your number 1 choice gets 20, your number 2 choice gets 19 and so on and so forth.
- Only one vote per user; make sure your list is definitive before sending me a PM as (like the bastard I am) I will disregard any further PMs.
- After a week or so I'll post up the 100.

In addition, feel free to comment on this thread any way in which this could be improved.

how about console games, not computer games, the pc has an unfair advantage over early atari, colecovision and nes games

Sure, some of my favourite games are PC games.

The only PC game I've played is Baldur's Gate.

My list is pretty much Nintendo based, with 1 Colecovision game and 1 arcade game.

I thought the IGN list was pretty great from a subjective standpoint. It's pretty difficult to make a best videogames list without it being biased towards games of the last decade or so. It's easy to say Tetris is the greatest because it's enduring but I would rather play the latest FPS.

ive only played 3 games on PS, rayman, tigerwoods 06 and nhl06

FFVII and NCAA 05 are locks for me.

I only like 2 computer games, Age of Empires and Commandos. They will be VERY high on my list.
