There's a good review covering many of the new features and changes in 2.0 here if anyone's interested.

I haven't timed it or anything, but it feels faster to me, both in starting up and loading pages. Switching tabs feels snappier, too.

Once I get rid of those damn 'go' & 'search' buttons and Tab Mix Plus gets updated for 2.0, I'll be a happy camper.

it's supposed to be faster. from my experience i'd say that it is.
you can read about what's new on their site http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/features.html

i upgraded and love it, just one problem. on version 1.5 if i typed "google pearl jam" into the address bar it would load a google search of "pearl jam". now a notification box pops up and says the URL cannot be loaded because it is not valid. how do i re-enable this function in FF2?

Why don't you just type "pearl jam" in the Google search box?

I just tried it and it worked for me. In your bookmarks under "Quick Searches", is Google Quicksearch in 'er?

Still better than IE, but still not as good as Opera.

Opera is when a guy gets stabbed and instead of bleeding, he sings.

Exactly! And which do you prefer: bleeding or singing? Think about it.

I don't care for Opera, but I keep it installed & up-to-date on this PC because it still beats the hell out of IE.

They're working on a new version atm. It's available for download but they tell you not to bother as it's for developers and testers.
