gross.
Oh and the song is very poor. It's amazing what a few different chords and actual solid lyrics can do to change a song (Life Wasted).

for a while it was my second favorite song on riot act. Pretty good lyrics and a great solo. Ed just needed to up his energy on this one. The malaise kinda fits the message of the song but it doesn't fit with the music

I'm curious as to how Riot Act will age. It could be like some of Neil's records, that were disliked initially but became fan favorites. Or it could be Face Dances. I hope it isn't the latter, because it happens to be a really good record. I think it's something that will appeal more to singer-songwriter fans more than rock band fans, though, just by way of how the songs are written.

the problem for me wtih this record is Ed. He just doesn't sound like he's into it.
That said, save you, can't keep, and especially I am mine are all fantastic

My problem with that is that it's so easy to at least sort of fake it, in a studio setting. Unless you're a functionless addict or you don't care about the music at ALL anymore, punching emotion into a track is easy as pie. Even a song you hate, you can put feeling into. I can only believe the delivery is intentionally subdued, and I think that for most songs it's really appropriate. A few of the faster numbers could use more energy, but even they are for the most part fantastic at creating mood.
Back on topic, I love Ed's delivery of "Bring it on, cos I'm no victim" followed by that guitar part.

I am mine will always sound kind of cheesy to me.
Ghost is definitely top 3 on the record for me. It sounds kind of generic at the start, but it opens up to the listener.
