Just heard the promo ad for the AUS pearl jam tour. You would think KISS were touring, with Betterman the latest song played in the background, and the script banging on about the grunge era. They are "supporting" thier tour - without having a single track from the new record on their playlist!

Big mistake by PJ to have this sad excuse for a rock station promote their tour...

It is lame, though. Liking Pearl Jam mostly for the first three records is like only only focusing on The Who's first three discs. Yeah, it's good, but, uh.....

MMM is corporate dad rock.

Since when did people have actual expectations for MMM?

at least MMM actually support PJ.. no other radio stations play or advertise any of their stuff. Also MMM have been supporting PJ since like 93, they sometimes broadcast the concerts on the radio live
so before you go bagging MMM for their lack of PJ support you should thank them that they at least support them at all

Poor effort by MMM, having not played a single song from the new album, and living with old faves like Betterman and Jeremy. Only thing good about them is that they have had live concerts on the radio.

JJJ have too though.

Radio doesn't support Pearl Jam... i like that fact, the radio sucks. That way there won't be anymore fans who think Betterman, Jeremy, Alive and Last Kiss are the only Pearl Jam songs...

Like everything else, MMM picks up after JJJ does the groundwork. And by picking up, it means playing Betterman and Daughter, in between the most inane of DJs playing the most uninspiring material ever, over and over.

Heh, thank MMM? Never.

Its not the fact that they 'do' support PJ, it is the 'way' they support PJ (or think they are supporting them). Shovelling them into the 90s band category does nothing to assist with album or even concert sales...

Wait till they have DJ's broadcasting from outside the venues on the night of the concerts.

I remember in 2003 they played a Pearl Jam song basically every half hour on the afternoon of the concert. Was kinda cool.

96fm in Perth played Vs in it's entirety around this time last year. That was cool.

Couldn't agree more. Triple J broadcast Melbourne shows live around Australia in 1995 and 1998. Triple M got the rights, so to speak, in 2003. I knew it was going to suck, and it did. To the best of my knowledge the 2003 show that Triple M broadcast was only available in the eastern states. It certainly wasn't live to air in Adelaide. Triple M is basically just fucking annoying announcers + bogan rock. I have a running bet with people that every second or third time I tune into Triple M they'll be playing a Jon Cougar Mellencamp song. All that being said, most radio stations suck these days. Thank God for the iPod + the iTrip for when I'm in the car.
