Let's not start hanging the drapes and picking out the carpet just yet. The Montana contest was extremely close and a recount is likely.
They'll also double check in Virginia, but Webb is up by a few thousand so I don't see that decision being reversed.
It's all about Montana now. *fingers crossed*

Montana was nearly 3000 votes out of only 400,000 cast. Virginia is 7200 out of 2.25 million. If they're willing to call Virginia, I'm not too worried about Montana anymore (and I haven't been since they called it about 8 hours ago).

Well, for the good of Afghanistan, Iraq, America and the World, let's hope that Burns pulls it out and the Republicans hold onto at least one chamber of Congress.

You've been listening to Rush too much today. Nobody is saying Montana is contested anymore except Conrad Burns.

you honestly believe that the world would be better off with a republican controlled senate?
why?

It seems like America has spoken, LF. I think it's pretty much a done deal.

What are Montana's rules about recounts? Does it even qualify? I know Virginia's does, but I was under the impression Montana's did not.
From what I've heard on the news, Montana will o.k. a state recount of the margin is less than .5%.
Tester received 198,302 votes, and Burns received 195,455.
So that's a difference of...fuck.

Did you plan that out before you wrote it?
You're a funny dude sometimes.

Because then the Democrats would control both the House and Senate. I base my judgement on voting records, and the Democrats have not supported the tools the President needs to fight Terror.

Thanks, I guess.
No, I did the math in my head when I read the final tally, and then broke out the calculator when I was making the post.

like what, let the president suspend habeus corpus and other things that are unconstitutional?

Habeus Corpus has been suspended for Enemy Combatants, not American Citizens. Even if an American is deemed to be an Enemy Combatant, he or she will still be ensured Habeus Corpus.
Please, let's not extend Constitutional rights to the Terrorists.

I for one am all about legislative gridlock. I like this whole having the legislature and executive branches in the control of different parties. I would think it will add a healthy does of checks and balances.
