The only moment that makes POTA seem kind of silly for me is that awful "It's a madhouse! A MADHOUSE!" *shudder*
this movie proved that racism exists in most everyone
during the shooting of the film, during breakfast/lunch/dinner breaks, something very peculiar (sp) was noticed by the directors and even some of the actors.
all the people playing humans ate together in one section, all the apes ate in another section, all the chimps in one section and so on
people do tend to stick with similar looking people, whether on purpose or not

i believe it was in costume, for the simple fact it was expensive and a long drawn out process back then
as far as the sequels go, i remember crying myself to sleep after seeing escape from the planet of the apes and cornelius and zira baby was muttering, momma....momma
the others i dont really recall per se, but i know i have seen them all

Oh wait! I also remember seeing an offical sequel set in an ape city. I mean, like, a futuristic city. I liked that one too. I remember it being all political with riots in the streets and whatnot.
