When I send a private message they sit in the "outbox" for quite a while and recently had one sit there for over 3 days before it moved to my "sentbox". ??? Does this mean it actually did not get sent for 3 days? If so does anyone know why and if there is some way to make them get sent?

techinically, when you send em and they are in your outbox, they are sent, they only move to the sent box once the user reads the PM.

so the reason it sat for 3 days, is that particular person didnt log in and check his/her pm's until then
