I was originally thinking Mich was going to win, but I see now it's anyone's game at this point.

In the past few weeks both teams' teams have had strange games (Ball St, Illinois) but they weren't trying. Whatever team shows up...I'm thinking Ohio St pulls this one out.

Only a week until Troy Smith puts up his third monster game in this series.

ETA: Apparently that 44 point win at Northwestern yesterday wasn't convincing enough as the Buckeyes lost a first place vote in both polls (not like it really matters).

OSU will handle Michigan w/ ease. They've been consistant all year. Michigan has not. Plus it's at the horseshoe.

OSU 38
Michigan 21

if manningham is healthy it's a completely different ballgame. michigan can stretch out that defense. however, he hasn't looked so good the past few weeks. i'm wondering if he's taking it easy in prep for the ohio state game. i can't tell. i just know he hasn't looked 100 percent.

why do people think ohio state's gonna win by a few scores? how do you come to that conclusion? they've had basically the same schedule.

Because their defense has only given up more than ten points twice this year, and no more than 17. And they have Troy Smith.

michigan's defense is pretty damn good too.

ohio state:

offense averages 36 ppg
defense allows 8 ppg

michigan:

offense averages 30 ppg
defense allows 12 ppg

and michigan allowed roughly 600 yards less on the ground than ohio state. which could be a huge factor.

i was thinkin..if this is a close game (last second fg/td, overtime)..the loser should stay at #2 and they should play in the national championship

it's probably better everyone is doubting michigan. they've been doubted all year.

Lloyd Carr is still their coach . . .

Michigan has the #1 run defense in the nation, giving up only 329 yards over 11 games. That's just sick.
Michigan is #3 in total yardage defense in the nation.
Michigan is #5 in the nation in scoring defense.

OSU is going to score 38? Come on Sam.

Both teams crushed highly ranked opponents on the road.

The difference in the game is twofold:
Lloyd Carr vs. Jim Tressel
Michigan's historical inability to contain mobile quarterbacks.
Unfortunately, both of those tip the scales towards OSU. However, UM has a reputation for ruining OSU's seasons.

OSU 24-13. I think Smith approaches 100 yards rushing, and probably uses it to win the Heisman, though Darren McFadden should win it unless AD comes back and runs for 200 yards the next two games.

I hate when this game comes around and I can't just root for the team with the worse record to ruin the other's season.

I think OSU wins this, but it's really fucking close and low scoring.

That's why having Tressel as the coach is so important. He wins these games. Against Michigan and in bowl games he's 8-2. He gameplans with the best of them and that's why I'm feeling very good about Ohio St's chances. Every year he adds a new wrinkle to the playbook just for this game and he'll do it again this season.

The Michigan D is good, no doubt about it, but this is the best offense they'll play all year.

What's awesome about Michigan fans is their utter obsession with Ohio State.
Ohio State fans don't give a fuck about UM.

I hope it's close. I'm watching with friends from UM, and it won't be any fun if it's not close.

What am I saying, it WILL be close.
