This was actually a very entertaining event. I watched it before I went out on Saturday night with a bunch of people who don't really follow MMA, and we were all pretty into it. I was happy that they showed almost every fight on the card. The two undercard fights they showed were great.

Watching Thales Leites get rocked a hundred times and never giving up was quite the spectacle. I don't know if I can attribute that to the fact that Kampmann doesn't have the heaviest hands, or if Leites is just a warrior, but either way, it was impressive. If MMA has taught me anything, it's that Brazil is a breeding ground for badass motherfuckers.

The Smith/Drago fight was hysterical. It was just two complete psychos who were having an absolute blast while beating the shit out of each other. That finish was priceless. It was like something out of a movie. If Smith mixed that punch, he was screwed. That's what the sport is all about - people who have a passion for it.

I was surprised to see Jorge Rivera pull out the win over Dewees. That stop was also controversial. I don't think Dewees was really hurt all that bad, but at the same time, he wasn't really going anywhere.

How skinny did Rich Clementi look at 155? I'm glad to see Din Thomas down there, and I'm also glad he pulled off the win - as he was one of my favorite fighters on the show. The UFC lightweight division is pretty stacked right now. I'm really curious to see what kind of fights they are going to set up and who Sherk wil have his first defense against.

I was surprised that the Lutter/Cote fight ended as quickly as it did. Lutter is all business. I like his personality a lot, too. His jiu-jitsu was outsatnding last night. His reactions are so fast, and every time it seemed like Cote was going to escape, Lutter put him in more danger. Although it is unlikely, I would love to see him take out Anderson Silva. Seems far-fetched, but this is MMA - a sport that never fails to be truly unpredictable.

Unfortunately, I didn't catch the whole Serra/Lytle fight. I saw from midway through the 2nd round. From what i saw, andby the looks on their faces while they were waiting for a decision, it seemed like it was a very close fight that could've went either way. I really like both of these guys a lot, but I was glad to see that Serra pulled it off. I hope they give Lytle a challenge for his next fight.

And if anyone is curious about the two unaired fights:
Charles McCarthy defeated Gideon Ray by armbar (Rd 1, 4:43)
Pete Spratt submitted Jeremy Jackson (Rd 2, 1:11)
