I was doing some meaningless browsing and I came across this:

"Tracks from your favorite artists from the first twenty years of the Bridge School Concerts available exclusively on itunes November 14, 2006."

Pretty neat eh? Discuss if you feel like it.

Here's the reference:

well, i think this is dumb, it will prolly be like the actual bridge cd with just one song by a bunch of artists.

I'm going to have to vehemently disagree with you, I think this is a great idea.

From Billboard:

"...iTunes will on Nov. 14 begin selling live performances from past Bridge School performances by more than 70 artists. The only prior document of the event was the 1997 Warner Bros. collection "The Bridge School Concerts Vol. 1.""

http://billboard.com/bbcom/news/article ... 1003286567

I would imagine that what will not be available are the sets with artists on shitty labels or the ones who have crappy contractual obligations.

that'd be a waste, but if it is the full sets that would be nice. Some of those PJ sets are great

I was just hoping for a good bootleg version, but a quality soundboard version would be great.

dont get your hopes up.

Lollapalooza did the Itunes thing, and it was a huge letdown. then they announced that they would set up a site to sell mp3 and FLAC downloads, which was cause for hope, only to find that the list of bands again sucked and even the bands that did allow the release were incomplete sets. worthless, IMO.

They have been working on the iTues Bridge School project for a long time. At the show last night, they even presented a few people with plaques in recognition of their work on it. I dont know if it will be full sets, or select songs, but it is happening. They have put a lot of work into it, and expect it will be good. They had advertisements on the big screen for it, as well as handing out fliers on the way out of the venue.

This was supposed to be released on iTunes today, yeah? I'm not finding anything. Am I missing the obvious?

Do a search for "Bridge Collection"

2 PJ Tunes
1 EV Tune

Very disappointing.

FYI- was at the Sat show (this was my ~16th show, i think) and the MC said "every song from every show from the last 20 yrs" would be available on itunes. So you'd be able to hear the Sonic Youth get boo'd off stage (only band that ever happened to) and all the great PJ stuff (the first show they did some pretty good political songs against a different Bush back then....) ... Was actually doing a google for "bridge school + itunes" when I found this forum.... Was kinda hoping i'd see something by now.... Hmmmm.... Maybe before midnight we'll see something...
Freaking amazing that they'd get all those record companies to sign off on something like that (maybe that's the delay, someone getting greedy...)

James Taylor has more songs than PJ.

PJ tracks are Corduroy (alternate version) and NAIS. Ed also has Better Man as a released track.
