I have NERO 6.0 and when I burn shows DAO with the regular Nero, it still will sometimes put the 2 second gap inbetween tracks. It doesnt happen with every disc, maybe every other or so.

When I burn the disc using Nero Express though, and uncheck the box to place gaps between songs, it seems clean. Is this the same thing as burning it DAO? is there anything I have to do in the regular Nero to not have the gaps. I do double check before I start burning to make sure its set for DAO and not TAO.

thanks
Dan

select all tracks to burn on the cd.

right click, go to properties.

put 0 seconds in between gaps.

just tried it now. after selecting 0 seconds, i went to burn it and this message comes up:

"Nero has detected that the following audio properties are not supported by your recorder in the current write mode and need to be modified:

CD specification allows only 2-3 seconds pause for the first track

Nero will change the audio track settings for you to fit the capabilities of your recorder. This might cause some audio properties to be lost

OK/Cancel "

before switching to Nero, i used to have easy cd creator and i was able to burn at DAO all the time, so i dont think its my recorder. think i should try upgrading nero, as i said, i have 6.0 now.

Yeah, you actually have to click all of the tracks but the first one and switch to 0 seconds. As the message says, you can't do that for the first track. Don't worry, everything is fine, the disk will still by DAO.

On a similar subject - does anyone know of a way to make Nero do this by default? I've coastered a fair share of boots by forgetting to switch to 0-second.

Yep, just ask Stevie Ray Vaughan.

I've been using Nero for about 8 years, and I've always changed the properties to 0 seconds on all but the first track when I burn an audio disc.

This may sound like a stupid question, but is there any way to set this as the DEFAULT??? This is so ridiculous that I have to do the same repetitive step every single time I burn a disc. Who the fuck wants 2 second gaps? Ever?!?

Guess not. :?

This is really pretty stupid. You'd think that at least one of their customers would have complained about this over the years.
