EDIT: The thread is now intended for bashing any bands, not just Led Zep.

For the sake of GEG, and also for anyone else who derails zep threads with angry posts.

And for those who want to antagonize the people mentioned above.

Ocassionally live, yes. But his sloppy playing kicks more ass than the best playing of Pete Townsend or Eric Clapton.

*points to almost every 70s rock band*

How is it ripping off? Is having anyone but the inventor of the blues playing the blues a rip-off? They were heavily blues influenced and that is the style of their music (hell they do blues covers), it's not as if they try to act otherwise.

And the lyrics to Achilles Last Stand (or stairway, or kashmir) are no different than the soaring, overdone lyrics of Dream Theater or other rock bands; and they CREATED this style of singing (20 years before DT). And the blues songs have lyrics like other blues songs.

Dream Theater own LZ into the ground. But DT's albums Images And Words and Awake against a couple of any other bands albums and they will win in nearly ever case.

Thank you.

I'm just kidding, I enjoy a good debate; even if it deteriorates into name calling and"owning".

Led Zeppelin's contributions to music as an art form are undeniable. Anyone who thinks they suck or otherwise can take a nice big drink of STFU.

If you take into consideration that he was as high as a kite nearly every show, he was a damn good live guitarist.

He's still overrated.

Robert Plant is really the weak link in Led Zeppelin. He is such an aweful singer.
