You spoke too soon, warehouse. Philly will never have any good news.

Ryan Howard Presumed Dead In Private Plane Crash

(This story is still developing)

Reported by Denver Peak-Regional Airport traffic control moments ago, a small private aircraft in distress ceased radio contact with the control tower and fell below radar frequency after reporting engine trouble and smoke in the cockpit.

Professional baseball player Ryan Howard and Donovan McNabb's knee were believed to have been the only passengers on the flight.

Additional information and details will be reported here as this story develops.

I don't see how that's possible.

well obviously two people cant both be the "most" valuable player, but both sides have good arguments as to why each was the most valuable.

Ryan Howard > Pujols this year. Mostly because of Pujols' injury. Remember, it's only for the regular season.

If it were a complete season (playoffs included) award, Pujols would win it.
I just feel like Howard was more valuable to the Phillies than Pujols to the Cards.

mitch's argument is that you cant have two players be the "most" valuable b/c the word "most" would mean that there is no one of equal value. pretty much mitch wants to argue about the word "most" and what it means. i want no parts of that arguement

Pujols: 85.4
Howard: 81.5

Is it possible for two players to have the exact VORP (whatever that is)?

To the tenth decimal place I'm sure it is. Mike Cuddyer and Lyle Overbay were both 36.3.

Here's the definition: Value Over Replacement Player. The number of runs contributed beyond what a replacement-level player at the same position would contribute if given the same percentage of team plate appearances. VORP scores do not consider the quality of a player's defense.

If two players had the same # of total outs would they not have the exact same VORP?
