hey there, i have just heard a version of black, not sure what show, europe i think. anyway, it is tagged with a song called good women by cat power. Firstly this version is amazing and one of the best tags ever. secondly i hear ed appeared on her album 'you are free'. anyone know what songs and if it is any good?

The song Ed guested on is in fact Good Woman, he adds some beautiful backing and harmony vocals, but they're not too prominent. Absolutely no escaping it being him though. It's a nice song, at least I think so. The rest of the album is good if you're into that type of thing, kind of ok otherwise.

He also sings on a song called "Evolution" on that same record. On this one I think he mirrors Cat Powers vocals all the way through and it is a sloowww song. Haven't heard it in years. With "Good Woman" he comes in the middle and end of the song with a few backing vocal lines "I will love you forever" , "I can't see you no more" , "I don't love you no more" His voice sounds different almost, cleaner. I don't know if he plays instruments on either tune.

Just bought this Cat Power record today and was really surprised to hear Eddie's voice on it. I love his contribution to 'Evolution', it's subtle, but it's a lovely touch. He's barely audible on 'Good Woman', but he's still definitely there, and the song itself is great.

There was a tag of "What Would the Community Think" on a song at least once, too. I think it was Daughter, I don't recall; unfortunately, I don't remember the show either. It wasn't on the Wiki the last time I checked. It's just the bit, "You are sooooooo beautiful." When I heard it, I didn't know it was Cat Power, but once I did give that record a whirl I remembered the tag instantly.
