have a sixteen game season one game a week.

would it be as poplular as the NFL?

obviously leave baseball on sundays during the summer.

basketball starts in Jan-

hockey starts in Oct. and plays only on saturdays.

and the NFl would stay where it is.

would these sports become as big as the NFL?

i just think that for such a boring game like baseball, the games should be cut down by at least 50%. playing 160 games a year (or whatever it is) is just so stupid. Think about the fact that a team can lose about SIXTY games in a year and still be the best team in the league. ridiculous.

As for the NHL, i think the playoffs are too long. By June (usually once all the canadian teams are gone, haha), i just dont give a fuck anymore.

So basically, for baseball, you'd have the same pitcher starting every game.

This plan would destroy baseball. If you thought that the most-free-spending teams dominated before, it would be even more pronounced here. I would suspect a lot of 15-1, 14-2 teams.

each team should have one main pitcher, with 1 or 2 backups. Like goalies in hockey.

I like hockey's season the way it is. Maybe attendance would go up because it is only once a week, but I'm honestly a lot happier the way it is now, wehre I can get a game every night, if I want. And yeah, the NHL playoffs do go way too long. They really shouldn't go any longer than May

Is it also ridiculous a football team can win only 14 games and be considered the best?

nothing will make any of these leagues as popular as the nfl.

i think the nhl season should be shortened. nothing matters until after the allstar break. i dont mind the long playoffs though

nba. whatever

i think the baseball season is fine. again, it doesnt really matter until after the allstar break, but baseball isnt as physically demanding as the other 3 sports so they can afford to play 162 games or whatever it is

the answer is no, because no sport is as easy to gamble on as football.

The NBA could get away with cutting it down to 60, but with how many fluky things happen, a 16 game season could end up leaving great teams out of the playoffs and allowing crappy teams in.

if the other sports adopt anything from the NFL is should be having non-guaranteed contracts. And there's too many teams in the NBA/NHL.

Ya, I think the NHL should adopt a new policy: if it doesn't snow there, then there is no team there. Maybe with the exception of LA.

Get rid of: Atlanta, Carolina, Tampa bay, Florida, nashville, anaheim, san jose, dallas, and phoenix.

Add: Winnipeg, hamilton, another team in Toronto, Quebec City, Halifax.

Stop trying to cater to americans (i.e. people who dont care about it). It would make the NHL a lesser league, but a better league.

lesser league, like making less money? im pretty sure that prevents it from being a better league

That's what i mean. take the hit, financially, in the short-term, by stopping to cater to NASCAR fans... bring it back to Canada, scrap it's "major league" status, and it would do well in the long term.
either that or expand to Europe.

those are some of the stupidest things ever.. first off they will never cut the baseball season because of $$ -- So no need to talk about that.. i would love to see them go to 140 games and make the playoffs longer/add a couple of teams

And your hockey comments are so stupid-- If you want to get technical it snows in Altanta, carolina, nashville, and Dallas

Maybe they should do away with the Leafs because they just outright suck

And if you want to compare regions in the NHL those 9 teams you talked about have had more success in the recent years than any other region.. nashville, anh,SJ 3 best teams in the west right now with Dallas not far behind.. i dont follow the east but if i remember correctly TB has won a cup recently and Carolina is a contender-- But hey im sure the Thunder Bay Panthers would be so much better than a FL team..

im going to stop here.. i cant believe im responding to your idiotic statements-- what a homer

You also have the attendance factor to consider--football has larger capacities per game than the other sports. How much money would those sports lose with lesser games?

I hate it when people use the "they suck" argument. Seriously... I don't agree with what he said either, but come up with an argument if you're going to try to refute something. 2nd in the conference doesn't suck... I know you only said it because you were mad that he said they should get rid of Nashville... but seriously...

it's snowed in Mexico city before too, it doesnt mean it's a snowy place.

ya, that sounds like a great plan. because "they suck".

you're a tool. wow, 3 best teams in ONE division, during the first QUARTER of ONE season. that means they get to stay!!
and who said anything about thunder bay??!! But hey, i'm sure the Iowa city Jets would be better than a winnipeg team

hey, do you get a free NASCAR hat if the preds score more than 5 goals in a game? lol
