Damn, you do love Nas.

Ya know...I love Scrface, he is one of my favorite gangster rappers of all time. But for God knows what reason, I can not get into The Fix no matter how much I try.

I'd definitely put Game Theory on here (better than Tipping Point, I'd say) but I cut the paramaters off at 2005 to make my life easier and to represent half of a decade.

oh duhh ok i missed the 2k5 thing in the thread title..i guess that cuts panacea nd kids in the hall too

stillmatic is my 2nd fav nas cd..its so good..one of the few 2k+ cds of any genre that i can listen to straight thru and say every song is good..well..not braveheart party..but i cut that from my cd (as did nas in the later versions)

If anyone is interested, I was going to make a 2-disc mix to accompany this list, but only if people request it. This is for all of those people who swear that rap sucks today.

I'm in a rare breed of folks who prefer Eminem Show to Slim Shady LP.

You should check it out. It's some great trip-hop/rap/experimental stuff.

I'm going to download it now. But "trip-hop" is a term that has always creeped me out.

Why's that? Some of my favorite music ever is trip-hop.

Dälek doesn't sound like Massive Attack, Portishead or anything though. It's more like rap set to industrial noise, which is why I like it. Be prepared that it's not the most accessible stuff.

Antipop Consortium and cLOUDDEAD are good too.
