.. how would you rank it? What's their best tour? For me it's on my top3 aside with 98 and 2000..

I think it is there with 94 and 05.

You could just have easily ranked yours without calling out attention to the way I ranked mine, which clearly indicates you think my ranking is somehow flawed.

Relative to their past tours, I'm not a big fan of 2006. I'm not sure there was ever a "show for the ages" this year, Boston probably came the closest (with Leash).

I was largely unimpressed (again, this is all relative to their past tours and the unbelievably high standard they've set--they're still better than 99.8% of the acts touring today).

Pretty good tour, but I still liked the sets alot better in 2003. And I actually enjoyed the Riot Act songs quite a bit live.

Based solely on bootlegs (because i've never seen PJ live :(), i think 2006 has been my favourite. 2003 was dead, and the band knew they were supporting a poor album. The audience has been amazing and there are a lot of memorable shows. I agree with the person above me who said there are few standouts - I think that is because the standard has been so high on the whole.
1994 was a bitching tour too.

I'd say it's right up there with the best (03 and 94) because of the energy of the band and the crowd. I liked the setlists in 03 a lot more, but the energy was lacking.

Maybe it was the show i was at, but when I saw them in Atlanta in '03 they were 10x more energetic than the vids i've seen from the NA leg of '00...I just don't get the dead comments..

All of this is of course purely subjective, but I'd wager a rough guess at:

2006
2005
2000
2003

Not quite as familiar with those prior, I have some shows but not as many as the post-2000 shows. 2005 and 2006 are pretty damn close too, hard to pick which is better. 2006 gets the nod I guess only because it's longer and there's more shows that are fantastic purely because of that. 2005 was amazing though, great setlists and performances every night, the band sound like they're having a blast.

Yeah, it's purely subjective. In terms of setlists, it's probably my favorite tour ever, but that's because I love the new album and it was nice to get excited about new songs almost as much as old songs. However, based on bootlegs, I'll give it a shot:

1994
2006
1995 (due mostly to the Pacific Rim tour, which was amazing)
1992
2000 (for Europe alone-if it were just Europe, this would be near the top)
1998
1996
2004 (great shows, but too short of a tour...)
2003 (some amazing shows, but they were supporting their worst album and there were some incredibly sloppy shows)

I've heard almost nothing from these tours:
1991
1993
2005

Based on tours I've seen:
2006
2003
2004

I'd say that on the whole, they've reached such a peak that it may be hard for them ever to top what they're doing now. I mean, what is there left that they can do? There are only a few songs left in the catalogue that haven't been played in more than 5 years, and most of those songs are songs I really want to hear when I go see them anyway (with the exception of "Who You Are", over which I'd absolutely freak). They're playing so well that it's hard to pinpoint a classic show, because the bar has been set high. Grand Rapids, Boston II, San Diego, Gorge I, Newcastle, and a few others would have been all-time classics on previous tours.

I hope, though, that they can prove me wrong and set the bar even higher.

k...having seen shows on every tour since 1998, i'd rank em like this:

2000
2006 and 2003 tied
2005
2004
1998
