I'm looking forward to this one. Looks like it should be better than a Mighty Wind, which I didn't like a whole lot considering his others. Best in Show is just an all time great show.

I saw this and thought it was quite good. Not a lot of huge laughs, but I was smiling all the way through. I think it helps to work in Hollywood or at least have a strong understanding of things that happen in the 'biz.'
My dad's review: "It wasn't as funny as the dog movie."

I think the Guest crew should tackle a new less broad topic.
ie- small town play and dog show vs. folk music and hollywood
maybe they should have focused on a small movie critics convention or something
I love these movies... a lot, but I think you've hit the nail on the head. I feel like the connections between everyday americans and BIS and WFG were definitely much stronger. WFG was particularly easy because it was a suburban, if not even half way rural town doing their american thing. I think Best in Show was a little more difficult but was executed well thanks to the acting from all the couples (particularly eugene levy and catherine o'hara). A MightyWind didn't seem to offer as much in this sense.

yeah. disappointing, but not that bad. whoever said his movies are best when it's a more specific topic is right on. mighty wind and this one lacked focus and a unifying story.
