I can't stand watching the View long enough to get to Danny's comments.

Well, the censors had to hit the button because he was using profanity when he was ripping into the President, so it isn't clear. They're will probably be reports from people who were in the audience that will clarify exactly what he said.
But yeah, the View can be like listening to fingernails scraping a chalkboard.

That too.
What strikes me as odd is that Danny DeVito will take some flak for showing up drunk on the View but will get a pass for cursing out the President of our country. Michael Richards shows up sober and calls one person "the N-Word" and it will haunt him for the rest of his life.

srsly?
Well, I see several factors at play.
1) Michael Richards was being a racist, not criticizing a public figure.
2) When did this air? Has anyone of any importance or fame even weighed in on it yet?
3) Everyone knows DeVito is a drunk, but we never knew Kramer was a bigot.

This is why I tend to disregard anything a celebrity says in regards to politics. How is this news? Aren't celebrities paid to make asses out of themselves?

Typical Hollywood Liberal Elitist...
Are you kidding me? That hardly qualifies as "slamming" anyone. It involved a few seconds of silly faces and funny noises, and said he couldnt figure out what to do. That's pretty tame compared to....almost anyone else who dislikes Bush and talks about him publicly. "Typical Hollywood Liberal Elitist..." ????

Well, you make a good point. Who is Danny DeVito, anyway. Nevertheless, he is given a forum that 99% of the people aren't, so it irks me to hear some drunk blast President Bush. Just a pet peeve of mine, I guess.

Really? So what did the have to edit out? I heard him refer to President Bush as "numbnuts," although he only got have of the word in before the censors intervened.
Simple Schoolboy makes a good point...I'm making more of this than there is. Danny DeVito is a drunken has-been.

It only bothers you because you like President Bush. If you didn't like him, you wouldn't give two shits about what a celebrity said about him. My guess is that you dislike Bill Clinton. I'm sure if anyone publicly made fun of Bill Clinton, you would have laughed and laughed.
Maybe what's really bothering you is that a huge amount of people in this country think our President is a complete douchebag and you just can't understand why.

Congrats LF! With this post you continue to further cement your growing reputation as the most lemming-like, intellectually lazy person on the board. Let's take it point by point

Everytime you use this or any other the myriad tired, hackneyed, over used dumbed down rhetoric you have a tendency to fall back on, you are essentially announcing to anyone on this board that you are too intellectually lazy to put your thoughts in to your own words and instead must resort to parroting the buzzwords of O'Reilly, Limbaugh, Hannity et. al. If I want to listen to the esoteric ramblings of one of the aforementioned pundits, I will tune in for their show. Seriously, I'm interested in hearing your views on any issue up for discussion, just don't be so freaking lazy as to think that you have made any kind of coherent comment on an event simply by tossing out buzzwords. Bring your a-game so we can truly debate the issues brought up on the board.

This is incredibly ignorant, on a number of different levels. And if you honestly can't recognize it as such, please do the rest of us a favor and don't procreate. And trust me, I can almost guarantee that without fail, any hour of the day or night, there is someone somewhere in America, either drunk or sober, verbally bashing the President. And god bless them for doing so. If there is any right I hold more dearly than all others as to what makes America one of the greatest countries in the world it is the right that each and every one of us has to bash the ever loving shit out of our elected officials whenever and wherever we see fit. And explain where in the video he "curses out" the president. He calls him numb nuts and mocks him with his facial expressions and imitations of him being unable to speak. Don't know which part of that equals cursing him out

This is splitting hairs at this point, but it should be noted that DeVito is still a major player in Hollywood. While his film roles are not as frequent as they may have been years ago, he has many production credits to his name and is still very much in the mix in the industry. I guarantee you that he has accomplished more in the last year than you or I either one have in the past 5 yrs. You don't have to like his politics, you can dismiss his views as inconsequential, and you can take issue with him being loaded on T.V. (which I personally could care less about), but you're incorrect to consider him a has been

Hollywood isn't liberal. When a studio spends $100 million to make a film it celebrates capitalism in the most grandiose, lavish fashion possible. If a lot of actors had any liberal sense they wouldn't be supporting such a system.

Aren't you a pretty fervent movie-goer? What does this say about your liberal sense, suppporting this capitalist industry.
