2400 Americans lost their lives and 1200 were injured when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor.

Never forget.

Thanks for that Buggy...

With that I would like to say that I would greatly appreciate it if people could keep on topic or at the very least be respectful in this thread, please.

Thanks.

is it fair to say this was the 9/11 of that generation?

No disrespect intended. Well, actually, only disrespect for that goddamn movie. I have full respect for those who lost their lives and served.

Disagree as this was military, not civilians

yeah i understand that. but i mean its something that everyone who lived then remembers clearly. like where they were when they found out, who they were w/, etc.

Some people say that FDR instigated the war in the Pacific by halting war materiel supplies to Japan, as well as re-locating the Pacific fleet to Pearl Harbor. These however, were all quite logical and justified reactions to the Japanese. The Japanese expansion was the instigating factor, and restricted trade was the only moral thing to do in regards to Japan's actions in Manchuria.

History in ev'ry century
Records and act that lives forever more
We'll recall, as into line we fall
The thing that happened on Hawaii's shore

Let's remember Pearl Harbor
As we go to meet the foe
Let's remember Pearl Harbor
As we did the Alamo

We will always remember
How they died for Liberty
Let's remember Pearl Harbor
And go on to victory

Let's remember Pearl Harbor
As we go to meet the foe
Let's remember Pearl Harbor
As we did the Alamo

We will always remember
How they died for Liberty
Let's remember Pearl Harbor
And go on to victory

I don't think Pearl Harbor and 9/11 are a 1:1 comparsion, especially seeing how 9/11 has no official song. This I find highly problematic.
