I'm gonna take a wild guess and say hat here isn't an appreciation thread about this band.

Listening to 16 Stone right now which is no their best album but still solid. I think if his album came out in 2006 it would be somewhat prasied. It was basically made fun of as was the band as Nirvana-Wannabee's and pretentious rock. The lyrics are pretty weak besides maybe the 3rd song(which he title has slipped my mind). Anyway, some great kick-ass tunes on this.

Razorblade Suitcase doesn't blow my mind but it's by far their best album and is easily underrated because of the label the band was branded by most respected music journalists. Some awesome hooks and Gavin's whiny vocals fit in just as much as Corgan's whiny vocals do on most Pumpkins albums.

The Science of Things is my favorite of he bunhc. It was almost as if they said "fuck he critics" and went in whatever direction they wanted to go. The production really throws me for a loop cause it's even better han Albini's job on Suitcase. The lyrics continued to suck on this onje but i find it o be their best musicainship with gavin's best singing. The ryhym section is very impressive and only gets credit from fans of he band even hough they do a great job.

Golden State has a lot of hit or miss songs and that's why it doesn' appeal o me as an album at all. Plus the so-called "ballads" are by far their weakest. Still, "Speed Kills" and the song right after it(the one where he keeps saying "Bones") are great rockers.

basically wanted to see what other people like about this band and why they like it.

My ranking:
1. Razorblade
2. Golden State
3. Science of Things
4. 16 Stone

I appreciated them at some point during elementary school.

I have Sixteen Stone. Pretty average record. Glycerine is a great single (how about that performance in the rain?) I frequently contemplate deleting the album from my itunes, but I can never seem to do it. I could give a fuck less about the rest of their catalogue.

Sixteen Stone bores me... sounds like they're just copying the big grunge acts at the time.

Razorblade was more exciting to me... "Greedy Fly", alone, is fucking great, but I also loved "Tendency to Start Fires", "Synapse", "Mouth", "Insect Kin", "Cold Contagious" and "Personal Holloway".

Aside from "The Chemicals Between Us", I really enjoy The Science of Things. I wasn't a fan @ first because I was expecting another Razorblade, but once I accepted it, I enjoyed it.

Golden State has some great moments and some average moments.

"Greedy Fly" is a great song to rock out to.

trying to understand Bush lyrics are like trying to find meaning in a Paulie Shore movie

with that said, Bush is very underrated, but not so much to say they are an awesome band, but they are a 90s rock staple

I used to love them, haven't listened to them in years. Musically, Razorblade Suitcase was fucking awesome, though I have a problem with a few songs on there that tried to be the Glycerine sequels.

Obviously they got loads of Nirvana comparisons, but I thought the one tactic that they really stole from Cobain was what he once said about how if he was smart he would have saved a bunch of songs from Nevermind to use as singles on all their albums instead of blowing the load on that one record. It seemed to me that after Razorblade that's exactly what Bush did. They would have about 5-6 awesome songs and then a bunch of filler. There are moments on every album that I enjoy though, I could do a hell of a best of.

Haha! The concept is beyond awful but the song kicks ass so i still somewhat enjoy the video for some reason.

bush has had some decent tunes, I like 16 stone allright, razorblade... not so much, science and parts of godlen state are allright.

the fact that some people say they are "different" bothers me.

I have a roomie who is more into eletronic music than anything, so doesnt really have a concept of how bush is about as innovative as a fly laying eggs on a pile of shit.

after 16 stone (probably my favorite) the albums were all hit or miss, and got progressively worse, but you could still find a few real good songs on the last two. And Gavin Rossdale has a great voice. It's just too bad that he was such a terribly lyricist.

I made a best of bush cd a while ago that I liked a lot. I don't have the tracklist near me though. I'll try to post it tomorrow

His new cd with institute is fucking terrible though. One of the worst things i've ever heard

I wish I had my bush cds with me now :)

listen to letting the cables sleep and my engine is with you if you have the records that they are in (3+4 I think). Both great unknown songs.
