At least they didn't make a comment about the zombie pyramid... that would have just been embarassing...

To be fair, the avocado cover IS one of the worst album covers of 2006.

I actually like it quite a bit.

Ten, Vs and Riot Act are all retarded.

Riot Act has the best album art next to Vitalogy and Yeild

Gradients, stock photos, and fake drop shadows are pretty lame. I don't have a problem with the concept but the execution was amateur hour.

I liked their line about the Who album: "2006, as seen through the eyes of a band whose last studio album came out in 1982. Amiga computers are the wave of the future!"

Pearl Jam shot their wad on the Yield album cover.

Yeah, I know the album cover is lame, and I'm still pissed that people refer to this awesome album as 'The Avacado Album', but I hate pitchfork more. I really think they would have a problem with the artwork if it was their own logo just because they wanna be dicks about it.

I don't know if there's a bunch of washed up musicans who never quite made it working there, or if there's a bunch of current musicans who know they never will make it, but any group of individuals who give the reissue of Charlie Brown's Christmas anything less than a '10', especially during the Christmas season, have some deeper seated issues to work out.

While I agree with Pearl Jam's inclusion in that list, I don't think some of those album covers are nearly as bad as Pitchfork claims.

I thought that monkey with the paper sailr hat was ok. Also the one where the little kids are looking at their private parts.

That one was definitely funny, and so was the buttcrack collage.

That Who comment was hilarious.

Yeah, I mean, if you're gonna make a buttcrack collage, you're in on the joke in the first place.
You can't count that as a failure....

that's a pretty darn funny piece of writing

it’s better to not even call it the avocado album. call it 8.

it appears I am still in denial over the tremendous opportunity they wasted with 8's art.

ed, give the job back to jeffrey. thanks.
