Stone Temple Pilots rank right behind Pearl Jam on my favorite bands. Anyways, here's my ranking....

1. Purple
2. No. 4
3. Shangri-La Dee Da
4. Tiny Music
5. Core

Purple got me into them, and no. 4 just rocks my ass. Shangri-La Dee Da is underrated, Tiny music is ok, and Core is overrated in my opinion, but both still kick serious ass. IMO

My opinion, Core is not overrated. I had a tough time choosing between Purple and No. 4 for the #2 spot. No. 4 has a lot of my faves on it, but Purple has more...

3. No4.
4. Shangri
5. Tiny

Core is classic awesome. Like Ten always will be classic. Purple, very very good. No. 4 great rawkin album. 4. Shangri good music, and good lyrics mostly. 5. Some cool riffs, but lyrically bad. I think this beach ball should be popped. :poke:

i feel the same thing about ten. Some ten bashing goes on by several hardcore pj fans, but in my opinion it gets no better than that, a pure rockin' classic. I dont' feel the same about STP though, I think their newer stuff is just as strong, if not stronger. but just my opinion of course

All great albums, very tough choices...

Tiny Music (awesome album, and for sentimental reasons)
No. 4 (has some of my favorite STP songs, but the filler sucks)
Purple (probably the strongest album from start to finish)
Shangri La Dee Da (underrated)
Core (i'm just tired of all of the radio songs)

1) Purple - fantastic album , one of the best of the 90's.
2) Shagra La - I LOVE this album. It just has everything and i love the production. I wish they would have recorded one more album cause this one is just great.
3) Core - So many good songs. The production is a bit overdone but the songs speak for themselves
4) Tiny Music - kinda weird. Has some great somngs and some clunkers. I can see why people like it though. It's a bit out there though.
5) No 4 - This album has gotten stale for me lately. It doesn't hold up that well aginst the others.

1. Purple- This album is just a great rock album thru and thru. It flows great and all the songs are excellent but no one song out does any other song. I think the whole 11 (12 gracious) melodies really shine of each other.
2. Tiny Music- I agree, some great tunes and some clunkers. But I think the great songs are so great that they rival Purple for the #1 spot. Adhesive, 7 Caged Tigers, Lady Picture Show, Trippin, Big Bang Baby, Daisy etc...are some near flawless tunes.
3. Core- I was listening to this album the other day for the first time in a long time and it is awesome. The rocking tunes rock hard and the slow songs are groovy. This is an awesome debut.
4. Four- I never really got into this record. I listened to it a few times and it just kind clunked.

I've never heard anything off the last one.
