No Houston show this tour. Hell, no TX shows period this time around. I know, tour's over, who cares. I care because this was my last chance to see them before our baby is born. None of the shows were close enough for me to travel to either, which was my plan 'b'. Just sux, that's all. Woulda been nice to seen 'em once more before the whole life changing event happens. She's our first, so all of my travel cash went to prep items (crib, carrier, clothes...etc) Not pissed, just a little dissapionted. I really love these guys, but they hate where I live (TX), so I hardly ever get to see them.
I know, no one cares. I'm a loser. Just wanted to vent.

Doors fan, I see. Been using it for a while now. I've been hanging around here for a couple of years, but don't post much. Not a lot of folks reply to my posts, hence the last line. One of my fave songs. Just so visceral.

A question for disgruntled US southerners: how much do flights cost in the continental US?
Where you tryin to go? You can fly virtually anywhere in the continental US for about 4- 5 hundred buck round trip w/ minimal planning. About half that if you plan/buy +/- 2wks ahead of time.

No I'm not planning on flying, I was only wondering what the cost would be for you to travel to a show nearby.

I worked it every way I could think of. Money just wasn't there. My PJ tour budget went belly up when we found out we were having a baby. Well worth it, no regrets. Just wish I coulda seen 'em once more to tie me over for the long haul, that's all. I'm sure I coulda got cheaper plane tix, but just not well prepared at the time. Oh well, baby can come with wifey and I next time they roll through. Shouldn't be more than about 4 or 5 years, right?

I feel your pain... I wish they would come back to TX too...

It does seem to be a bit more expensive in the US. I had to travel around Europe quite a bit but managed to find some bargain cheap airlines in certain countries (15 euro from Barcelona to Lisbon, anyone?) The most expensive flights were from Belfast to Rome (£160/$310ish) and Brussels to Barca (£100/$195)

no dude, those prices don't here. 15Euro really? wow.

I know, I nearly shat my proverbials. 15 euro for Barca to Lisbon, Lisbon to Madrid and Madrid to Barca. God bless Vueling! In addition, their fleet was pretty new and had TV screens. Not exactly easyjet

Woah, 15 minutes? I've never believed in the 'quicky'. Rule is she's gotta get hers before I get mine, but that's okay, it makes for a VERY happy wife. Besides, it's my rule, not hers.

The only way I'd travel by plane to see a PJ show is if it were a one-of-a-kind show, like a club show or something similar.
If the tour doesn't come within driving distance of my town, it's not a tour.
I don't tell no tales about no hot dusty roads
I'm a city boy, and I stay at home
Got no excuses, I just don't like to roam
And I don't like being alone

I like this guy
*who knows what the future holds=they could come to your area next tour, they could not tour again, so many possibilities- congrats on the little one

It makes for an adventure to travel somewhere new to see them- worst case scenario, u see an awesome show- otherwise, u check out new places and people- fun!

That's my normal MO, but I recently got a raise at work that would've allowed for one trip without breaking the bank. Hadn't counted on the new arrival though. Oh well, I know I'll see them again at some point. Besides, like I said before, I can introduce my new baby to them the right way, at a live show! (with earplugs, of course )

I agree with David. I keep on meaning to really follow them to just about every city I can one of these tours--but once it is more than a 3-4 hour drive I find myself losing interest. I am a lazy lazy man.
If I had a travel buddy it'd be worth it more
Juvenal--flights are usually a bit ridiculous unless you are a good traveler and know where to look (which I am not)
