It's 2006 and a major historical event... and we can't get a steady camera and some clear audio?

Same here but that is assuming that there was more of an official video camera set up for this. Have you heard if there was? I would imagine that there would be.

there apparently were 2 cameramen and 1 video taker. which makes me feel weird because i've seen two video angles -- of course, it could come from the same video guy but who knows.

Do I want to see this? How graphic is the shot of the floor dropping out?
it's really not that bad. you don't see any blood. you see saddam drop through the hole -- no neck snapping -- then it goes black and you next see scenes that are just of his face with the noose around his neck.

Yeah, it's still pretty easy for Bathists to cry "fake." You've seen worse.

It's shakier than the Blair Witch... can no one hold a camera. I have no sources,,,, but my friend told me that heard that there were HD cameras filming and snapshots... again, I know that isn't reliable, but I thought I would share.

It looks fake. Saddam's face looks like a still image that was pasted on.
I didn't think it looked fake at all. Look carefully at how the neck is distended and how it is at such a sharp angle to the body. That's how it is in real world hangings boys and girls. Fugly shit if you know what you're looking at.

i'm with david- i'm not 100% sure this is something i'm thrilled with watching, no matter how horrible a person he was. it just doesn't appeal to me to see someone's life ended by brutal force.

sorry, i'm sure i'll take a beating on this one, but i think it's a sad commentary on society as a whole that there are so many who are eager to see this. maybe i'd feel differently if it was me or someone i knew who was raped by saddam's men, or worse. but i wasn't, and as far as i know, most people who will watch this weren't, either. so i'm not sure where the bloodthirst comes from, except that maybe we've been anesthetized to brutality so much so that this sort of thing doesn't upset most people.
