I didn't really know if this should be in another thread so I created this one. Anyway...

In case some of you don't know, OJ Mayo returned to his hometown of Huntington, WV (where I currently live) for his senior year of high school basketball. Besides Mayo, Huntington High has five other D-I prospects including 6'8'' Pat Patterson who is also in the top 15 seniors in the nation and is likely heading to Kentucky. The team is currently ranked fourth in the nation according to the USA Today Super 25.

Tonight, Huntington will take on the eighteenth ranked DeMatha Catholic High School before a sold out crowd in Marshall University's Cam Henderson Center. I just thought I would inform you all that this game will be televised on ESPNU tonight at 9:30. What I've seen from Huntington so far this year has been absolutely unreal, but they were not facing much of a challenge with teams from WV. This will be an interesting game that I will be watching on television because it was next to impossible to get a ticket.

I don't get ESPNU. :?

I'll try to catch them in Charleston when they're here again.

Btw, I'd love to see Huntington High take on Marshall, lol.

I wonder why Patrick Patterson hasn't actually made a commitment yet.

Maybe if WVU keeps playing well it will sway him.

Well if they were playing by college rules, Marshall would win just because of a depth and size advantage. If they were playing a shorter high school game, though, Huntington would likely win.

OJ Mayo is coming to USC next year. Can't wait.

Huntington won 74-62. Mayo scored 27 despite shooting very poorly. I didn't think Huntington played that well in the first half. They finished the half up by two, but they looked like they were just trying to play street ball. Usually they are able to do this easily, but they had to really buckle down and play some defense and hold onto the ball when they had it. DeMatha looked pretty impress until the near the end of the third quarter when Huntington began to pull away a little. Though Huntington High proved they were legit, I was still a bit disappointed with Mayo, but maybe he was just trying too hard.

I don't think I've ever done this.

Of course, the Heels don't have a single recruit for '07, so I won't be visiting that thread for a while.
