I'm in the market for a mini-system with cd changer and tape player. I've narrowed my choices down to these two, but I'm open to other suggestions; and I want to keep it under $200. I live in a 1-bedroom condo, so I'm not looking to blow my neighbors' ears out.

The JVC only has 3 preset equalizer settings and no manual bass/treble control, which could be a problem when listening to bootlegs.

The Panasonic, from what I've read, sounds small. (I couldn't hear much of a difference in the store). And its cd changer may be clunky. But it has more equalizer presets, plus the manual bass/treble control.

I haven't been able to find much in the way of reviews for either of these (or anything else in this category - Consumer Reports, etc., hasn't seemed to focus on these systems for at least 4 years).

So, your thoughts will be appreciated.
