i know its been posted before, but i was wondering if there are any programs that will convert flac and shn files to wav files. i've downloaded flac frontend and it recognizes the files, but i'm not sure how to convert them. i don't have the cash for nero nor the time to download it off the internet. any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks.

There's a sticky in the tech help forum, and in the trading forum too ( I think) about this. But to recap:
Flac Frontend: click on add files, bring in all the files you wish to decode. Change the output directory in the bottom righthand corner of the frontend to the desired directory. Click decode (second button from bottom on the right-hand button bar). A DOS dialouge should pop up and let you know the progress as it one by one decodes the files. Once it is done it sould say "press any key" or something. Close Flac Frontend and the WAVs should be in the output directory you specified.
SHNs: Download MKWact (audio compression toolkit), just do a google seach for it. Open the program. In Windows, open the folder with the SHN files. Select all the files you wish to decode. Drag the highlighted files onto the white area in MKWact. They will automatically be decoded and the WAV files will replace the SHN files in the directory where they are stored. The files will disappear from the list in MKWact as they are decoded.
Now just use whatever CD burning program you like to burn an audio disc with the WAV files.

as explained above, FLAC frontend is painfully simple. But better yet just get the FLAC and SHN plugin for Nero and no conversion is necessary. However, I downloaded this Tool show the other day from easytree and Nero would not recognize the FLAC file so i did have to convert to wav, but thats the first time out of probably 50 albums that i had to convert.
