I went to school with this girl at Gonzaga Univ. 94-98 and she told me of a time when her and some friends were hanging out late night on a beach near Seattle (her hometown) in 1992. They had a campfire and were singing songs and started singing "Black." They were pretty drunk and laughing, when some dude and a chick come out of nowhere to tell them they were singing it wrong.

"It was that guy from Pearl Jam."

I was amazed to hear this because I remembered a reference similar to this in a Rolling Stone article. Though Eddie made it seem like he was pissed in the article, my friend said Eddie and his ladyfriend were totally cool and stayed to chat for a while. "Probably to warm by our fire." I couldn't believe her luck. Her response to me was, "It's no big deal man, Pearl Jam sucks."

I drank with Eddie at the M's game last season. We talked for a half hour or so, mostly about politics. I really wanted to know why Eddie disliked GW so much. He told me this story about how he recently watched Oprah, and there was this story about a guy who bought this really nice truck for himself, but his family was really poor and couldn't efford the truck, but the guy was selfish and bought it for himself, and screwed his family. Eddie told me that was how he viewed Bush and the war in Iraq. He wanted the war (truck) and didn't give a shit about what anyone else wanted. I then bought eddie a beer, yes a bud heavy, which I'm sorry for the mass hysteria caused by referring to a regular budweiser as a bud heavy, you would think the world was ending by the way some people were replying. Anyway I was lucky enough to met eddie and share a drink with him. He was really cool, and he hooked my up with some tickets to the Showbox show.

Hey if you don't believe me I will send you the picture, I will also post it if someone tells me how to do it. How does my one post have anything to do with whether or not this story is true? I was a member of RM, but then it went a way for awhile, and when it came back I didn't sign right up. I saw that someone asked if anyone had ever had a drink with a band member, and since I had, I thought I would register again and share my story. So, suchpj believe what you want.
