ill try to explain what im dealing with and maybe someone will know what i can do to fix it.
it just started yesterday, but my computer isnt acting right and i think it may have somehting to do with windows defender, or my lack of at the moment, i think it has expired. alot of sites just time out on me right now, and especially if i am trying to go to a site when following a link from another, kinda like right now i can get to google but i cant get to google images( it would be nice if others are having trouble with sites like google because it might mean it isnt me, but i doubt it), and google at times hasnt worked at all for me. i actually tried to download a new version of windows defender, but when i try to go through the validation process it times out on me.

that is basicly what is going on though, i can usually open a site, but when i try to get to a linked site it times out. there may be more things happening but that is the main thing i notice.

does it sound like an easy problem?

For diagnostic purposes, try booting up windows in Safe Mode with networking (so you can connect to the internet). To do this, press F8 repeatidly while your computer is booting. Instead of loading Windows right away, it will take you to another screen asking you what mode you want to boot in. Choose Safe Mode with Networking. Your computer will boot in a minimalistic diagnostic mode. Once it boots, try browsing the internet and going to sites that you normally go to and see if there are any problems.
This is kind of just a first step diagnostic to see if there is still a problem when you eliminate all the Windows boot up garbage and other processes.

would the wireless internet be disabled in safe mode? because when i tried it last night i wasn't able to go onto any website.

if that is the case then i can try to plug into the modem and go into safe mode and try again.

i did try a few things though, i just noticed it on Thursday night so i restored the computers setting to a few days before that to see if that took care of it, but no luck there, and i also got the latest version of firefox to see if that helped, but it didn't.

hmm...I guess I've not tried it with wireless, so I'm not 100% sure if that will be operational in safe more. If you can plug it in directly, that should work (it's supposed to).
