There has been talk for some time that the government may get involved in drug testing in sports.

Wouldn't it be more important for our politicians to undergo frequent drug tests, and have the results publicized? I'm all for cleaning up the sports world. But when it comes down to it, I watch sports for entertainment. Our politicians have much more influence on our safety and help set policies that govern us all.

Answer me this:

Is your username inspired by that guy who was on American Idol this week?

No. I'd ask if that was you on American Idol this week, but I didn't see a wristband, so I know it wasn't you.

Are you suggesting that Congress shouldn't have the ability to impose drug testing on an industry that, by its power, it grants monopoly-exempt status because it's own members may use drugs? Sorry, but I'm not seeing the correlation or relevance.

My main point is that if Rep. Joe Schmo is a coke addict or an alcoholic, it is a MUCH bigger deal to me than if Raphael Palmeiro took steroids to hit a few more home runs.

I think it's hypocritical that they're talking about imposing drug testing when they don't undergo them.

I just hate that when our country has such large overwhelming problems, and our Congress drops everything to look at performance enhancing drugs in sports.

I really don't think that I have to explain the difference between being a member of Congress and a member of a baseball team that's regulated by Congress.

I almost voted for Joe Schmo, but I didn't agree with his hardline stance on late-term abortion. True story.

You're right. I didn't have time to audition because I was busy filming I Love New York. "12 Pack"

Wouldn't bother me one bit. It would be great to see who the hypocrites are.

Why would a Libertarian have a hard line stance on late-term abortion? If you are going to attempt to be funny at least try a little harder.

For your information, "hard-line stance" is a phrasal adjective that must be hyphenated. But I'm sure that you knew that . . .

As far as I'm aware, the Libertarian Party has no official stance on abortion due to the difficulties in weighing the rights of the mother versus the rights of the child.
