Hey I have to put on this video for the Tsunami Relief Fund and I wanted to use a Pearl Jam song, which song would be appropriate for this occasion. Preferably slow and mellow...I was thinkin' Man Of The Hour since "Tidal Waves Don't Beg Forgiveness" but if there are any other thoughts I would love to hear them. Thanks.

hard to imagine?

perfect mood i'd say and the lyrics also fit in a way

...
fuck tradition, no one's safe from harm
wait a little, cup and curse these arms
after having seen all that they saw
it's hard to imagine, it's hard to imagine...
things were different then, all is different now
i tried to explain, some how...
...

this is hard. love boat captain, but I wish they would sing it so the lyrics were changed from the "nine people" to the thousands of people lost...

Arc

Or Untitled, the live version that leads into MFC. My favorite is from Boston 3.

"I wanna go but I don't want, to go, alone."

I´d also say HTI. The part with "things were different then, all is different now.....i tried to explain, somehow" fits well

Why Tremor Christ? Just because of the big big waves line? It's really not meant in that context. I don't see how that song relates at all, other than it's got an "oceanic" theme.

Wounded is the organ he left all...bloodied on the shore...
...
Ransom paid the Devil...He whispers pleasing words...
Triumphant are the angels if they can...a get there first...

well, it's not really oceanic, but it has some harsh images that could relate to the tragedy. only too much, IMO. i wouldn't go for it. i would drop the oceanic approach and just stick to the feeling of loss and sorrow, but also hope. most PJ songs can relate to those feelings, yet no particular song comes to my mind. if i think of some, i'll post.

I'd go with Long Road. It's always had a positive, euphoric sentiment for me.
