I visited my attorney today to begin preparing a Will. My 10C number is very important to me. I have been in since '93. Can a seniority number be looked at just like a season ticket with a sports team? Can the number be given to a person of my choice if something happens to me? I know this may sound crazy to you younger fans, but this is important to me. I would love to hear what you think

you could just call and ask the 10c .. probably the easiest and fastest way to answer your question

Well i think that since your number is unique to you, it will go when you go. With season tickets you purchase a block of tickets for a said number of seats for a said number of games, your investing in that particular team, venue, what have you. The membership entitles YOU to purchase tickets and other memorabilia. You have not really invested in anything other than a chance to buy something for a single performance....

I agree mostly, but what makes this a unique dilemma is that our numbers are almost like a permanent place in line, so to speak. i just want to give my spot to someone if and when I am unable to "stand" in the line.

since you have to personally be there to use tickets, etc I'd think it goes with you. Otherwise you open up the possibilty of scalping, etc.

Maybe if someone sends 10c a copy of your will and death certificate they'll make an exception

You love Pearl Jam = You become 10C member

It's a personal choice that we make to become a member, if your membership is transferrable in any manner (to your son or to the highest bidder) it makes no difference.

I feel that the important thing with a 10C membership is the point in time when you say that you have gotten so much personally from this band that you want to join this band's fan club and pay your money.

If you get the membership by default without that conscious decision you are ripping everybody else off.

10C Membership is only valuable in so far as we (PJ fanatics) make it so. Leave your kids money to buy their own membership, so long as they get in line like everybody else I'm happy.

:)

Your number dies with you.
Hopefully, a lot of people with better numbers than me die or don't renew before the next tour.
Fuck me for losing my original number

I wish I had been a fan in the 'early' days, I often wonder what it was like.

the 10c is good to us, but the logistics of allowing 'willing' of 10c numbers is far too great for them to handle.

If you are really concerned, open a trust and use the trusts credit card to pay for your membership. Then change your addy and member name to that of the trust.

BI,

That is a really great idea.

What do I owe you? $225 an hour?

Thanks, just a guess. You would still need some kind of ID that wouldn't get rejected at the ticket window.

How old do I have to be before this doesn't sound crazy? :P

The only advice so far that isn't complete shit is to ask the Ten Club. 8)

I'd be annoyed if you could leg-out your number (despite the fact that being European, seniority is meaningless to us at present).
because if you can inherit it then you should be able to buy/sold/transfer it...which I believe is against the whole point of the seniority system...

mind you if you can...one of my best friend has a very low number (36xxx)...and the last tour, it looks like she might abandon PJ (don't ask me why!) ....so if there was a chance I could recuperate her number
